Was taking a blueprint when I got a (fairly common lately) modal error dialog about a file rename. The blueprint completed and popped up on top of the dialog, so couldn't close it. Could only close Factorio from Windows (running Windows 10)

Sorry if this is a duplicate, looks similar to [0.13.2] [rrrola] Unclosable modal dialog box behind research screen, which is marked resolved...

It might be a bit simpler to reproduce if you could upload the mod that causes the error message.
Making a new report instead of commenting on a closed one while referencing it is pretty much the ideal procedure.Theanderblast wrote:Sorry if this is a duplicate, looks similar to [0.13.2] [rrrola] Unclosable modal dialog box behind research screen, which is marked resolved...

I don't think a mod caused this. I'm only running one, the blueprint string mod, but wasn't using that during the time this occurred

Then please upload the log.

I managed to do the same thing when I caused a Lua error with a constant combinator GUI open.

Very sorry, it looks like it got overwritten. factorio-previous.log is too recent.Loewchen wrote:Then please upload the log.

I'll try to reproduce it. I looked at my backups (on CrashPlan). I took that screenshot at 10:41 am, but only have log files dated 9:16 and one at 10:46.

Don't worry too much, I'm sure the devs can create a notice window for testing in some way.Theanderblast wrote:Theanderblast wrote:Very sorry, it looks like it got overwritten. factorio-previous.log is too recent.Loewchen wrote:Then please upload the log.

Re: [0.13.17] Unclosable modal dialog while blueprinting
I was able to reproduce the modal error dialog at least:
I think what's happened earlier was the error dialog popped up while the thread that was making the blueprint was building the blueprint dialog, which then displayed on top of the errro.
Here is the log file:
I was running the SysInternal's ProcMon tool at the time (greatest thing since sliced bread) and captured who was accessing files in the factorio folder. It looks like there was some interaction with CrashPlan posslibly. I can have CrashPlan exclude backing up the save directory I suppose, or perhaps those .tmp.zip files.
The places where factorio.exe wrote those last tow lines to the log file are show in bold in the log below.
