Sorry I don't have any useful details here, but wanted to report anyway:
I'm on a MacBook Pro with the Apple M1 Pro chip, running macOS 15.0.1 (24A348)
My game froze for some unknown reason and I had to force quit the game.

This sounds like the steam overlay bug after restarting the game.

More or less the same on linux, I was just playing got the steam-power achievement and the game just froze. Using an AMD chip not an M1. I have attached my log.

This just happened to me as well, on 2.0.8.
I was playing Factorio via Steam Remote Play or whatever it's called, on my laptop (Kubuntu) that isn't powerful enough to run the game. Game running on my desktop (Kubuntu), screen froze up but the Steam controls were still functional. Upon going over to the desktop the game was unresponsive just after earning the steam power achievement.
