Walked away from a vanilla multiplayer session to grab a sandwhich, and came back to the desync message. See linked desync log.
No ill effects noted on rejoining.

Uh... i looked at the desync report and the amount of differences makes this pretty much non workable. There are differences in belt items, differences in unit numbers, there are some entity ghosts differences, a lot of differences around wire connections, differences in resource amounts. If you have a reproduction steps i can take a look but other than that i am moving this to pending.
