[1.1.34] Dragging a belt under robot makes underground belt

Post by greenyaptec »

Hello,

I have the "Smart Belt Dragging" under "Interface" options enabled. When I was dragging some belts around and had robots deliver more stuff, at some point it made underground belt directly under the robot (underground length of 1). There was nothing else on the tile. Happened once more after a few seconds with different robot in different place, but it's pretty hard to get it to happen again (due to fast robot speed).

I suggest that smart belt dragging should not build underground belts under flying entities (robots).

I can try to record it on a video or something, if you need more info.

I would like some reproduction steps or video because i was unable to reproduce any issues with construction robots and with logistic robots. While trying to reproduce i was however able to create some undergrounds over thin air but it was due to moving cursor out of characters reach and walking which is already reported by 97178.

Try starting a new empty map and using /cheat. Without roboports the robots will just stay still in the air.
I don't usually use smart-drag so not sure if I'm doing this right, but nothing special happens for me:

Hm, now when I've been trying to reproduce it, it didn't happen :(

I'm certain there's some weird behavior for unknown reason, but I can't make it happen again.

I wasn't recording at the time when it happened, but from what I remember:
- I was in the range of that build (so it's not exactly as the linked "out of range" underground belt issue)
- I was dragging left to right with smart dragging enabled
- there was nothing on the ground apart from concrete and me (though I wasn't standing at the place where the underground was created)
- both undergrounds were created as one block long
- there were robots flying (they were pretty fast, but it *seemed* like the underground was created under a robot)
- robots were coming to me from left side, almost horizontally, were logistic robots and were bringing me red belts (out of which I was building the belt)
- it was on a multiplayer server (hosted on a dedicated server, so I was client)

I know that since I wasn't able to reproduce this, it's pretty hard to find what caused this, but here's all I know. I'll try poking around the issue more and see if I can make it happen again or find the cause of this.

Perhaps it had something to do with running out of belts while they were being delivered?
