Heads Up: Microsoft now also spy Win 7, 8, 8.1

Post by dee- »

Just a friendly information.

As it should be already known, Windows 10 is actively and extensively collecting and sending data to Microsoft servers, such as but not restricted to personal user data, visited URLs in browsers, W-LAN passwords, installed updates, local files, and even has a functionality to search for pirated software, etc.
Even opting out on all different locations still has some telemetry functionality enabled, that simply cannot be disabled, even though most pages still state it can be fully disabled (-- it can not be).

I'm not talking shit. Here's one of the many sources: http://bgr.com/2015/07/31/windows-10-up ... o-opt-out/
Just search for another one if you don't trust this site's reputation, there's loads.

This feature has now been backportet to Windows 7, 8, 8.1, so they now also send diverse telemetry to Microsoft.

Same here, if you don't trust these sites, choose one of the many others.

A walkaround would be to block these updates or deinstall them afterwards.
Windows 10 users are however still shafted as they a) can't prevent the installation of updates and b) those features are already integral part of the base system.
