Background info on how the game "thinks"

Hello, so i have to make a school presentation about AI algorithms. We were told that we can find out what algorithms does our favorite game use and do it about that. So naturally i thought of Factorio.

So here is my question to the Devs: Would you share the backend workings of the game? i know about the fff #317 (pathfinding) but it would be nice to know the more deep technical stuff behind it. other algorithms eg. how biters chose targets, how does the "cluster" movement work so they dont get stuck on each other and other stuff like that but the deep technical programming side of it.
