It works on my two monitors, DVI and HDMI, but I don't have displayport to test on, which I think I recall you were using. Hopefully it's a solution for you!

Only one time among my many tests did it not work, and I think it's because my secondary, newer monitor is always so slow to connect.

It puts them into immediate sleep mode and locks the desktop. My Kill a Watt showed 1 watt drawn while they were both in sleep mode (one old fluorescent backlight from 2008 and one new LED backlight from 2019), so it's the next best thing to powering them off.
