Making decoratives survive entity placement

I noticed that decoratives like bushes and those brown "reeds" disappear when buildings are placed nearby, which I would like to avoid. Can I change this, so that decoratives are never removed? I know tiles have a "chance to remove decoratives" parameter, but even basic entities (belts, assemblers) also remove them and have no such parameter.
