Using solar energy to create "heat"?

Hi everyone,

I read the futures possibilities with nuclear energy. This gave me the idea to create the second popular type of solar panels: use solar energy to heat liquids (usually some kind of vegetable oil). To begin without the heat system, I tried to combine classic solar panel and boiler.
The problem is, when I try to use solar energy, it seems I have to produce electricity. When I want to give some heat to water, I have to use some "fuel" (wood, coal,...). Is there the possibility to avoid that process?
