A simple question from one lazy bastard

Hello, guys. I've used to play Factorio with my buddies and we did pretty good job with the map. The thing is that I've made an incorrect modification, just for testing and stuff, I mean I've modified original files of the game, and item that I've created exists in the inventory of each player on the map. Since I'm not complete zero at the programming, I foung modding easy and interesting, so I want to make this mod properly and develop it further, but I don't want to lose this map. The question is: if I revert any changes I've made with the original files and make the same item with the same name via mods, will this map work?
