Looks like the @devs looked into the original issue, decided it wasn't a bug and haven't read any of the follow up comments. I think this really is an issue for some mods. Is there any way we can re-open the issue so it can be reconsidered?

Actually, it was fixed for 2.0 a few months ago thanks to an external contributor, we just forgot to update the topic.
