[1.0.0] Steam Backup doesn't backup game saves

Post by steinio »

Hej,

under https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage you can check your backuped game files.

Problem is, my game saves aren't backuped - only the listed files on the picture:
Screenshot 2020-10-31 193044.png
Screenshot 2020-10-31 193044.png (26.52 KiB) Viewed 1124 times
In the log all directories are recognised correctly:

Code: Select all

0.000 Program arguments: "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Factorio\bin\x64\Factorio.exe"
   0.000 Read data path: D:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Factorio/data
   0.001 Write data path: D:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Factorio [3303045/3815429MB]
   0.001 Binaries path: D:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Factorio/bin

Files listed in your screenshot are explicitly saved through Steam's Remote Storage API. Saves are cloud synced by setting path of a folder that should be synced in application adminitration interface - I suppose files synced this way are not considered to be part of the backup and are not shown in this interface. If they are supposed to be shown here, report it to Steam, not to us.

Have you enabled /Factorio/saves/ ?
I don't use %appdata%.

I missed that, sorry.
No, if you change saves folders from the default path it won't work, obviously. We won't be adding arbitrary alternative paths to the sync configuration.
