AppData directory always has default name

Post by Kayanor »

I'm using two versions of Factorio in order to test things in both, stable and experimental release.

In "C:\Program Files\Factorio" is the experimental version of the game and in "C:\Program Files\Factorio Stable" is the stable version.
The problem is, the directory in %AppData% is always "Factorio", even if the name of the main directory is something else.

If the name of the main directory in "C:\Program Data" would be used for the %AppData% directory, it would be way easier to manage multiple installations. :)

To run multiple copies, you can also use the .zip instead of the installer. I believe it keeps everything in it's own directory then. I use it this way, one copy for playing, one for mod development.

Yes, this is what the zip package is for.

But you can always change the paths in the config file as well.
