Possible bug with curved belts and inserters taking from one side

Post by BobTheUnknown »

Hello I thought I'd post this issue just incase it was a bug.

For some reason the Stone is not loading from the belt as I expected it to. Some people in my Reddit post mentioned that this could be a bug with inserters only taking from one side of the belt when the belt is curved. It seemed that two stack inserters could manage to load the stone into the assembler at the same rate as the other materials being loaded, but for whatever reason the stone was always low in the assembler.

Not sure if its related to this bug, but may be.

The inserter does not take coal from other side of belt, it tries to, but coal is out of reach before it can grab it.

Also, it uses energy and after few tries to get coal (without success) it will run out of energy.

When belt is full, inserter can grab it.

I also reported this behavior. But moved to duplicates.

This does not look like a bug. Maybe a bit of a strange behavior.
Because of the rotation of the belt, one side is slightly slower than the other. Not ideal but as long as they are rotationally symmetrical we don't consider them bugs worth fixing.

Second issue is also a heavily debated topic, but for now we consider it not a bug either.

At last its good to know it's not a bug. Acually it's pretty real that inserter is can't grab it for such short time.

Just got to remember i have to consider this "feature" in my base planning :D
