[Oxyd] [0.17.14] Research completion not printing to the console

Post by mandydax »

It used to be (in 0.16) that when researching a technology completed, in the console a message would be printed which told you which tech was just finished. It is no longer doing that, and there does not seem to be an option to enable it. The problem is persistent and repeatable. I completed Rocket Fuel research during this log: https://pastebin.com/C1SvAVQi

I just tested this in 0.16, and there is no console message when a research finishes either. Could you explain what you are talking about?

I think it would be more of a feature request.
With research queue you have the reasearch "ding" but no idea what was just researched since next tech is already displayed.

research name was printed by autoresearch mod for example, maybe he was using that and now uses factorio queue.

imo factorio always only blinked research button on completition. and printed message in multiplayer, when player changed research

Huh... I just switched down to 0.16.51 and tried it for myself. I really thought that was a vanilla feature. So that's embarrasing.

So, I guess this is a feature request now? Sorry.
