I don't see this as a bug to be honest.

Re: [0.17.4] Pipette tool (Q) is not selecting item on the quickbar
Thanks for the reply, if it's not a bug it would be a very helpfull addition. it should not be too difficult to check if the item selected by the pipette tool is on one of the active quickbars and selecting it. Anyway, thanks for the new version and I hope this addtion will make it into the game some time.
Re: [0.17.4] Pipette tool (Q) is not selecting item on the quickbar
It took me so long to understand what this was reporting: that the hand overlay doesn't appear on the quickbar.
I don't think that aligns with the purpose of the hand, tbh. The hand appears in your inventory when you take an item out of it, so the system can't place another item in that slot while it's in your hand. Since this can't happen in the quickbar, because they're shortcuts and not the actual items, it doesn't matter whether you put the hand there or not.
So I experimented a little. If I use the pipette to select an item that is on my quickbar, the hand overlay does not appear on the quickbar, but it does appear in my inventory. So the hand icon is showing up and doing its job.
If I then select the item from the quickbar, whether by clicking the quickbar or pressing the number, the hand icon shows up in the quickbar. This tells me that my command to the quickbar was recognised and I have in fact selected the item from the quickbar. So the hand icon serves a different purpose, there: showing where I have selected an item.
There is, however, another inconsistency. When I select an item from a chest, the hand icon doesn't show up in the chest. So conceivably, you could have the same problem you get with inventory: something gets shoved in the chest, and now you can't put what you're holding back into it. I feel like having the same behaviour for the hand icon here would be an improvement, since it also marks which slot you took an item from, so you can be sure to put it back exactly where you got it.
But in either case, it's a suggestion, not a bug.
