[0.15.x] Uranium mine shuts down prematurely

Post by Aeternus »

Uranium mines seem to shut down when Acid pressure in the pipes falls below 9.9, even when there's still a ton of it in storage tanks. Unlike manufacturing plants, they don't "suck" a little from their input lines if there is anything available. This caused a problem for me in the following scenario:
- Have a uranium mine with 4 storage tanks to buffer acid.
- Connect them to the Circuit Network, connect the station too, and disable the station if Acid fluid is <1.5k (basic thought is to call the mining supply train once there's 7.5k room in the tanks, that way you can name all those stations the same and the train will just resupply whatever station needs fluid).
- Mines will shut down when there's just under 9.9k total fluid in the tanks. Fluid pressure in the lines is 9.9 as well. But the tanks are still just shy of 10% full, which means there's ample acid available for mining

Not sure if this is a bug or not. An extra pump between the storage tanks and the mines is a workaround.

The drills need 10 fluid in them to operate. If there's less then they can't work - that's intended.

Is it intended that uranium mines do not function without a pump to force sulfuric acid in?

No, but fluid flow also has to have enough fluid for it to flow in. If you don't have enough fluid that it flows in then it doesn't work.

Okay, good to know - a pump between the storage tanks and the mine to up the pressure is the intended way to solve it then. Not a problem - usually enough room there to do that.
