[0.13.5] Resource cost of Lab has iron-plate count wrong.

Post by rolfl »

The Lab has an ingredient cost of 4 Yellow Tracks, 10 Cogs, and 10 green circuits - this is displayed clearly in-game, and also in the wiki article: https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?title=Lab

The "Total Raw" count is wrong, though, in both the wiki, and in-game. It reports 36 iron-plates required, but the actual requirement is 42.... doing the math:

- 4 Yellow Tracks is 1 cog, and 1 iron plate. Each cog is 2 plates, so that's 3 plates per track, or 12 plates for 4 tracks (the in-game and wiki agree with this calculation: https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?tit ... sport_Belt ).
- 10 Cogs has a cost of 20 Plates (again, in-game and wiki agree: https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?tit ... Gear_Wheel ).
- 10 Green circuits has a cost of 10 Plates (again, in-game and wiki agree: https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?tit ... ic_Circuit ).

12 + 20 + 10 is 42 (not 36)

Since this information is wrong, both in-game, and in the wiki, I thought it best to report it as a bug.

The Copper-plate calculation is correct (15 copper plates are needed for the lab)

Also, could someone please re-check my calculations? Appreciated.

One iron plate and one gear yield two transport belts.

Here's your error. The recipe for the transport belt gives you 2 transport belt for 1 cog and 1 plate (= 3 raw iron plates).
As you need 4 transport belt you need 6 raw iron plates, making the total for the lab 36 raw iron plates.

And, just like that, it all makes sense. Ummm... of course. And appreciated.
