train got NO PATH, but all ok [0.12.20]

Post by dimmy »

i got train's "no path"
i have read this https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comme ... _rules_to/
and this
https://forums.factorio.com/wiki/inde ... _transport
No path?

When trains cannot reach the target and stands still, while a "no path" pops up over the locomotive. Check:

Can the train reach every station by only driving forward? Build turning slopes or place a locomotive at both ends of a train!
Are the train stops standing in the right direction? Train stops stand at the right side of the track!
if you use Rail signals, check that the signals are all allowing traffic in the correct direction. See Railway network/Signal/Block signal.
and all is ok for the train. All rail signals are allowing traffic to station. Save is uploaded to this topic.

Look at the train in the "base" station.

how to fix this situation? is anywere correct rules for resolving conflicts with "no path"?

There are at least two signals in the wrong direction for the train to reach the "steel" station.

Remove those or add one on the opposite side for the train to pass. In general it is better to have one track for each direction when you use more than one train, especially if you are not completely familiar with the mechanics yet.

For future problems I would suggest to post here or here first before making a bug report.
Good luck.

thanx, i'll check it. but can you explain?

WHY i should do so?

the right signal need for train from "steel" station to stop, while the train from the "oil-2" (down right) go to the (upper left) "base" station.

can anyone help me?

Why should i set up 2 signals in the single rails block?

Are there any new rules for new trains-rails-signals system?

This video here explains Block signals quite well, especially two way tracks.
If you watch it and still don't know how it works, then you should make a new post on reddit. This really does not belong here and hardly anyone is going to find this post in the Not a bug subforum.

ran into a minor bug, if station is placed too close to start of curve, the train will have "No path error".
if station relocated back one position then train moves to station.
Note: rail line was east west and curve was going north.
