Multiplayer Server performance in 0.12.8 depends on player

Hi,

in 0.12.8 alpha the server starts lagging when a player connects, who has a high ping or internet delays. After he is connected, the server starts lagging until the lagging player disconnects.
Tested on Linux Ubuntu 14.04, Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter and Windows 10 64bit.

Any ideas?

That is how Factorio is programmed and will always be a tick based system. Forger the exact terms but each person runs the simulation on their PC and you all stay in Sync.

Try increasing the ms to a higher value even 500 just to see if that made any difference. If it's the person's CPU buckling it should not stutter just bring the overall UPS down..

increased the latency to 3000ms. Laggs are may be a little bit better, but still unplayable when a player with a bad internet connection connects.

Not really a bug.

Perhaps a feature request would be an option to have a server automatically boot players with high ping.

Not even so much high ping but rather packet loss.

Well, high ping and packet loss tend to go hand in hand.
