From remote view with a train selected, I have the help text popup:
"Control + Left-click: Insert a temporary stop.
Shift + Left-click: Add the selected stop to the schedule."
Neither of these work unless the map is zoomed out till the point where the map turns into the "line view" or whatever its called.
The thing that is weird, is that the temporary stop option appears to work when holding down control if the area is at the edge of radar coverage, but left clicking does not add the temporary stop.
Screenshot is showing that in remote view, with train selected, holding down control appears to add a temporary stop but left clicking does nothing.
Example:
[2.0.8] Can't add selected train stop to schedule, or insert temporary stop on zoomed in remote view
Re: [2.0.8] Can't add selected train stop to schedule, or insert temporary stop on zoomed in remote view
Thanks for the report. This is currently working correctly however we will likely change it at some point in the future. For now, you can't do this when zoomed in.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
Re: [2.0.8] Can't add selected train stop to schedule, or insert temporary stop on zoomed in remote view
Wait, your saying the UI intentionally misinforms players?
The ingame-text explicitly says what should happen on a "Shift + Left-click: Add the selected stop to the schedule."
I understand your difficulties of finding nice a control scheme with so many features. And copy-pasting train stops configs is a great feature. But overloading Shift-Click based on zoom level is highly un-intuitive. I had at least 8 cases of a train stop names unexpectedly appearing (including associated production stops due to trains driving to wrong stations and messing things up) before i finally figured out what was going on.
If you guys don't like the current double-allocation of shift-click and plan to change it anyway, thats great. If this will happen soon, sure wont-fix this report.
Otherwise please consider at least cheap fixes:
- hide the misinforming text at zoom-levels it doesn't apply
- better telegraph to the player a copy-paste action is happening (at least a floating text)
