What did you do?
Created Iron Bacteria in a Biochamber (Gleba)
Inserter moved them onto a belt
Another inserter, pointing to an empty Heating Tower, faced the belt
Bacteria moved in front of the inserter
What happened?
Inserter stayed still, bacteria continued down the belt
What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
Expected the bacteria to be picked up and placed into the tower to burn, since they are labeled Burnable Fuel with a 250 kj value, vehicle acceleration, etc.
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
Happens always, as well as with Copper Bacteria. They are not consumed by Burner Inserters either, they simply don't burn in spite of the label.
Tried to manually place the bacteria into the Heating Tower, no effect.

Re: [2.0.15] Copper & Iron Bacteria "burnable fuels" don't burn
Bacteria don't have a fuel value, at least not for me. Where are you seeing the fuel values?
Edit: I was looking at the factoriopedia entry, other tooltips do show a fuel value. wait no... thats a tooltip about spoilage that shows up with the iron bacteria recipe, as the recipe also produces spoilage.

I see, I was mistaken when I was reading that recipe. Thank you for that correction, looks like this is closed!
