I put down solar blueprints on a large area by using shift-click to remove trees etc. Then I waited for the construction bots to build. But in some cases they didn't remove the trees/cliffs; when I checked they weren't even marked for deconstruction anymore.
I don't know exactly how to reproduce this behavior, but I experienced it three times when I set up a solar area.

You overloaded the bot network and the deconstruction orders timed out before the bots got to do it. If you are sure this is not the case post a save that shows what you think responsible.
