Hi,
If you manually feed an out-of-fuel burner inserter rocket fuel, the graphic that shows up is still the coal one but the energy burn rate appears to be correct (veeeeeeeery slow)
Not much to say than that, odd little bug!

That graphic is the inserter's extra fuel slot, it doesn't indicate what's being burned. Likely NaB

Looks normal to me. When you feed a burner a burnable fuel, the fuel is destroyed and stored in that red bar. After that, more burnable fuel can be added.
You are misunderstanding (understandably) what is being shown there. You look at that and think that the coal is being burned. that is false. The rocket fuel is being burned, having already been consumed. the burner inserter then added that coal, which is waiting it's turn to be burned.
Not a bug, merely misleading UI.

You inserted one rocket fuel and the inserter is burning it, afterwards the inserter took one coal into its slot, the coal is not being burned until the rocket fuel is used up. This is all working as it should, NaB.

Ah, thanks for the info. Makes sense - thinking about it, trains are just the same (you don't see the current fuel only the stack)
