Water boils at 100 C. The heat exchangers didn't output steam until 500C. Why didn't the heat exchangers start outputting steam until 500C?

Yes that's how they work.
Re: [0.16.51] Heat exchangers not running until 500C
Why? If i have 100C why cant we start boiling water at that point? In a nuclear power plant the heat exchangers are directly in water, they start boiling water as soon as it's hot enough. This seems like an arbitrary decision that's a bit ridiculous.

Or the devs knew that you can not generate mechanical power with 100°C steam at atmospheric pressure and used a value that is in the area of the q-point of actual steam turbines input temperature...herkalurk wrote: Tue Oct 30, 2018 1:46 am Why? Watt steam engine has vacuum pressure after cooling of the steam inside the piston. But it was absolutely ineffective.Loewchen wrote: Tue Oct 30, 2018 2:34 am Or the devs knew that you can not generate mechanical power with 100°C steam at atmospheric pressure
