[16.51] Destroying rocket silo destroys rocket in flight
With the number of Rocket control units loaded onto a rocket, I'd expect it to be able to successfully continue into orbit after its silo is destroyed. Unfortunately,
I know mechanically the Space science packs would be lost anyway without a silo to put them in, but it feels arbitrary that we can't get credit for a rocket launch if the silo doesn't survive.

It is called Autonomous flight termination, if the rocket leaves its flight path or contact to all ground control stations it triggers charges to assure range safety.

This explosion and remnants of the rocket looks terrible, like the rocket goes to the north, but not to the high.
Re: [16.51] Destroying rocket silo destroys rocket in flight
That's exactly what happens. There is no "height" in the game.darkfrei wrote:This explosion and remnants of the rocket looks terrible, like the rocket goes to the north, but not to the high.

Thanks for the report however this is working as intended.

The rocket looses guidance from the ground and self destructs so it won't get lost and hit the player of something.

I disagree.Rseding91 wrote:Thanks for the report however this is working as intended.

That's fine but that doesn't change anything. It was built such that destroying the rocket silo would destroy the rocket and that's exactly what it's doing.Gergely wrote:I disagree.Rseding91 wrote:Thanks for the report however this is working as intended.

At least the explosion particles have a height value. Set them to the rocket's supposed height and make sure it does not break the illusion.Rseding91 wrote:That's fine but that doesn't change anything. Yeah, I noticed it too ... it does look horrible. I'll write it down as something that needs polishing.darkfrei wrote:This explosion and remnants of the rocket looks terrible, like the rocket goes to the north, but not to the high.

Thanks for the response! I knew this was probably deliberate, but am sad this dashes my dream of an eco-friendly victory with no industry remaining planetside.
