I've seen this problem with personal robots across multiple 0.16 versions. Most of the time they deconstruct trees successfully and build the necessary structures. But sometimes they are just hovering over the tree with a wall to be placed without doing anything. The robots periodically come back to player to recharge and continue hovering. Re-applying the blueprint or restarting the game does not solve the problem - only manual tree chopping.
The game uses default settings and no mods.
Here is a save, just in case:

[0.16.20] Robots not building over trees
Re: [0.16.20] Robots not building over trees
Thanks for the report. You need more robots so they can deconstruct the trees.
The other robots are waiting for the tree to be removed and can't built the walls until that happens.

If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

I'm sorry but I don't get it - there are 100 robots in the inventory doing nothing:Rseding91 wrote:You need more robots so they can deconstruct the trees.

You have 422 jobs that can not be assigned because you are missing material, it will take a while to iterate to a job that can actually be performed, to prevent this issue do not build tons of ghost of stuff you do not have.Murzik wrote:I'm sorry but I don't get it - there are 100 robots in the inventory doing nothing:Rseding91 wrote:You need more robots so they can deconstruct the trees.

OK, I found the problem - part of the construction orders was assigned to another ground-based roboport network with robots flying from a mile away. I wish there was an easier way to spot this.
