Game crashes every now and then.

I wonder if it is just my computer that is getting too old for my big map/base.

It looks almost exactly like what an out-of-memory error looks like indicating you've gone beyond what your computer can handle.

That combined with your computer being 32 bit leads me to believe you've simply gone far enough with your map that you'd need to upgrade to a 64 bit operating system so the game can use more memory.

So, not a bug :)
