Working light for boilers

Post by GotLag »

Maybe I'm just blind and/or stupid, but I can't see any way to make a boiler emit light when operating. That is, the light source appears to be innate to the burner energy source.

Could we get some kind of working light property added, so my electric boilers aren't sad at night?

Every entity that uses the burner energy source supports the light flicker effect. Just look at the base-game boilers to see it.

Whoops, I forgot to specify that the boiler in question has an electric power source.

Electric consuming entities don't have the concept of light flicker and it's unlikely that will be added as it would add a ton of additional data that every electric consuming entity would have to then save and load.

I don't need flicker, just some kind of light when functioning. Entities like furnaces support having a working light independent of the energy source, but boilers don't.
