Nuclear reactor consuming uranium fuel cell very fast

I build out a nuclear reactor based on the specs of water to steam output and when I added uranium fuel cell MK01 to the reactor, it comsumed it at a rate of 5 per second instead of the 2 min per cell. Is this right?

Probably, I've read that the first tier reactor is only used for side products you need on some tech.
