Re: pY Petroleum Handling
so, i did some testing and is there a way to Make ModMash ( https://mods.factorio.com/mod/modmash ) compatible, it seems that a Hotair recipe does not have a Expensive recipe https://gyazo.com/c895cfe0fb1926363e9153d70cf84cc2 which can be viewed here. i have tested this with all Py mods and ModMash. the error can be replicated.

either stay on 1.5.4 or update pyrawores to 1.8.6Cogito wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 1:43 pmHello.

OMG... I didn't notice that I'm using the old pyrawores version. So sorry for bothering You and thank you for the quick reply.kingarthur wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 2:05 pmeither stay on 1.5.4 or update pyrawores to 1.8.6Cogito wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 1:43 pmHello.

py Petroleum's changelog isn't recognized by the game because the file has tabs instead of spaces. The file format is very restrictive, see this post.

I have question - can we get glycrol from oil products?
Is it possible to extract glycerin from propene? Its long process but i think it can be possible allyl chloride using

Re: pY Petroleum Handling
Heh, synthetic glycerol does exist IRL...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycerol# ... c_glycerol
So, that would be
Propene + Chlorine + Oxygen + Sodium Hydroxide => Glycerol + Hydrogen Chloride + Sodium XXX + HypoChlorous Acid ??
And/or a reverse path for Acrolein => Glycerol, for Propene => Acrolein => Glycerol ?
P.S.: I always forget how you can also make Lard from steamed Zipir bones...

Because of the large-scale production of biodiesel from fats, where glycerol is a waste product, the market for glycerol is depressed. Thus, synthetic processes are not economical. Owing to oversupply, efforts are being made to convert glycerol to synthetic precursors, such as acrolein and epichlorohydrin.
EDIT : That biodiesel production with glycerol as a byproduct is already in Py, nice !As biodiesel production from triglyceride transesterification increases, a surplus amount of by‐product glycerol is produced. The glycerol production per year in Europe has tripled within the last 10 years to 800–900 kt per year. This motivates the development of new processes for the conversion of glycerol into valuable chemicals, e.g., the transformation into acrolein. [...] In the recent years, some researchers studied the dehydration of glycerol to acrolein over acidic bulk and supported catalysts, in particular with heteropolyacids (HPAs) as active compounds. [...] In addition, redox active metals are incorporated into HPAs and oxygen‐containing feed is used to suppress coke formation. This review presents a summary on recent research on HPA based catalysts in the gas phase dehydration of glycerol to acrolein.
P.S.: I always forget how you can also make Lard from steamed Zipir bones...

And where to use tons of blood?

regarding bones i use theem with proirity to make fertilizer and i use thee rest to meke lard and if that backs up i make bone meal from meat+bone

Re: pY Petroleum Handling
I try to never void anything. (Exceptions : flue gas before filters and some organic matter specifically created to burn into ash.)
Extra blood can be used in the (more efficient?) nylon-making process ?

if you want you can use that but you will also need the other one too

Other ideas for NEW RECIPES where to use blood or nylon?

Nylon combined with glass fibers, in Engine Units ?

Re: pY Petroleum Handling
And how to use zipir blood to get iron oxide? Fow now i mean only ideas for PYPH and PYHT not for PYAL? may be in that mod would be more efficient ways to use blood

Re: pY Petroleum Handling
Presumably the idea is that zipir blood is heme-based (not totally sure why that's reasonable to assume), so you're extracting the iron from the heme in oxide form. Of course if you can do that then it isn't clear (from the realism point of view, not the gameplay point of view) why myoglobin would be so difficult to get. (Similar for the iron -> iron oxide transformation.)
Re: pY Petroleum Handling
So what do u think the sample recipe will look like to use zipir blood?

Re: pY Petroleum Handling
BlueTemplar I undestood ur point about synthtic glycerocl production but i want to say that i want to have more possibilities to get glycerol? more ways and let it be additional way
Information about the PYAL is covered with secrecy and i donno what to except about new recipes and new products from it mod but i guess that the bio part of pYCP and PYHT could be changed very much
To get many glycerol my base eats massive tons of hydrogen for ralesia, and why fertilizer can't be used for it
Can't say i have many skin from zipirs bcuz in need resilin and i need ethanolamine for helium, but i have too many blood, sometimes its looks werd
Sometimes I think that the importance of plastic in electronics and in small parts is underestimated
Benzene looks like a byproduct from time to time existing separately from aromatic compounds
Why not to use benzene to get organic solvent?
Where's way to produce toluene like in angel's mods to get explosives, it could be useful

Re: pY Petroleum Handling
It seems to be that the main options for higher smelting recipes (requiring Methanol and Glycerol) are either Zipir or Mukmoux + Ulric (as I'm trying to stay away from any recipes involving plates, as they tend to be too expensive.)
For me (Ground Boring for Nickel in 0.16),
going the Zipir route
- which gives Fertilizer as a bonus -
has 1 Nichrome indirectly costing around 9.4 plates,
while the Mukmoux + Ulric route -
- which gives Oleochemicals as a bonus, which I might use for more efficient Silver, Lead, Aluminium, Titanium (with Iron not being worth it at this point) or probably just stockpile for later -
has 1 Nichrome indirectly costing around 37 plates due to the Nichrome loop !
(I think this is actually worse than using a lower ore processing tier...)
The power consumption also seems at least ~4 times greater.

Another reminder that ground boring balance is completely different in latest PyPH.
