Belt-based 2700SPM Megabase

Work in progress - I'll post updates. Basic Idea was, produce enough science for a full blue belt each.

I'm still into building the megabase. each science one blue belt. productivity modules everywhere

No LTN something. Mods: HeroTurrets + Rampage. Deathworld. no creative mode cheats
Most blueprints my own work, except nilaus' mall and reddit's beauty of the beast.

Features so far:
700 rockets before going mega (with a 120spm base)
fail-safe science sushi no matter what
mixed power. steam+solar+above reactor+ 2 of my own reactor designs, full custom logic for power spikes (both steam driven and power needs)
all 2700spm science productions designed from scratch and built in a row
auto-cut heavy smelters from power if output belts are jammed (500MW if idle.. each)
62-belt copper smelter + feeding stations
54-belt iron smelter: missing stations, yet
5.2 artillery shells per second for bombing rampant creatures

Need more ore smelting, somehow missed metal needs for circuits ^^ but the good news are, I decided to jump start the mega soon, and not to wait until all ressources are produced in proper quantities.

Thank you! This is my first approach to a vanilla megabase. Only other thing I tried that went comparable big was my expensive mode playthrough a while ago

Lol. The only thing I have is like my train network to irons. I’m aiming for a 20k spm for my current world but I’ve never even done above 100 spm. Or launched a rocket. May aswell aim big.

madzuri inspired unloader. this is a 10 belt unloading station. 4 one side, 6 the other. i want to draw items from every wagon in the train evenly.

insersters set to activate if copper ore > 1, combinator divides through negative number of chests. 4 chest because it should see all 6 chest for a wagon as one entity. when i'm thinking about it, maybe i will connect both sides later.

That’s the same design I use! However why offset the belts? Is it more efficient? And yes it is a big goal originally I was gonna do a no beacon build but only do 10k. That was a no when I realized how big it would be. But I still wanted a challenge. So 20k it is! Quick question. How do you go about finding new resources later on? I find it easier to make a modular wall/ roboport grid than go on a car or something. I’ve also never used the spidertron before so I dunno of that will change.

Inserters feed on the right side, so offset allows 6 inserters per wagon + feeding the same amount on both sides of the belt. Exploration goes with artillery. I choose a nice location at my perimeter (some small piece of land with cliffs around, build an outpost there with a big artillery gun. Then feed enough ammo to bomb them all. Walls later at choke points. Rampant biters are pretty intelligent and try to find a weak spot in defenses, so there need to be a wall at some point. Spidey for support. In vanilla, spidey could clear entire map by its own. But with rampant, there are nuclear biters which blast them off the map.

Ah cool maybe spicespider will help me soon enough. I double checked the photo and realized your doing 4 inserters per blue belt instead of 6 which is really smart I may say. It also accounts for the offset.

my new oil refinery is ready. 1 refinery to serve it all:
- 6483 petroleum gas /sec (for plastic bars). It's enough for 2700spm science packs if they are full prod module augmented
- 34.4 rocket fuel /sec (satellite+rockets)
- 160 lubricant (some surplus for mall)
- 757 sulfuric acid (optional - could be processed from petroleum gas elsewhere or taken directly. surplus for uranium mining operations
- light oil for flamethrower action (more damage than crude oil)

Trains included. Build at a shore..
I need a bigger screen now. Or zoom mod :mrgreen:

Tile-able advanced circuits. each row spits 42 red circuits per sec and eats almost 2 full blue belts copper.
Could stack up to 20 rows if you double the petroleum pumps above. 7 should be enough for my current setup. consumption around 6.1 blue belts of red circuits, because it will not feed processing units production.

There seem to be a minor thoughput issue, still. 4 stack inserters are not enough to output 30 copper cable per sec onto a belt.. while they should
