Flourite, what do I do with it?

Post by Rafe »

At the point of floatation cells and crystal catalysts/seeding resulting in the synthesis of fluorite from one of the waste waters. Not sure precisely what do do with this stuff. The only recipe is burning silicon to make stone and a bit more sulfuric acid. I would rather glass and cement.

Fluorite is one of the most valuable materials due to it becoming hydrofluoric acid, which has many key values to it:

1. Infinite jivolite ore mining.
2. Creation of jivolite crystals.
3. Used in the advanced metallurgy recipes for high yield tungsten and lead.

In areas such as 1 and 3, you will always be at a net loss of fluorite, so cherish those you do get from refining until you can create the acid from acid gas cracking. However, at some point late-game you will want to sort for fluorite ore if you're making heavy use of those two things, as acid gas cracking is only a supplement and not a reliable source of hydrofluoric acid.

... It also makes rubber via styrene if you're somehow hurting for resin. But let's be honest, no one ever would.
