Re: Show me yours...
How do you survive with one flotation plant/ore? I need about 6/12 for each ore.
Or does leaching have insane output for relatively low input?
Re: Show me yours...
I suppose I'll add my finished setups as they're completed. (I'm usually never fully satisfied with them)
Ore Processing Liquids
Gems
Re: Show me yours...
I have some smelting setups in the smelting ratio and builds thread.
For the sorting setups, direct insertion is your friend. Also the mixing furnaces allow for setting of recipe.

Re: Show me yours...
I recently started my next step up project so I can have some PROPER sorting, since now I think I have a decent setup.
I'm still worried that it will not be able to scale up well when I fully upgrade all machines to their respectives maximum, since the output would be too much for belts and inserters I think. And specially if I start throwing modules on them.
I have 6 mirrored setups (each adapted to their fluid needs).

Re: Show me yours...
One of the reasons I can't go back to vanilla Factorio is that Angel lets you do funky stuff like this, which I threw together earlier:
This cracks coal to produce Sulphur (ordinarily I drown in it, but if your refining lines back up, it can crash), coke pellets and two types of plastic (Phenolic and Propene for the neophytes amongst us). Sadly, the residual gas is flared off. Such a waste. I only put this together as a quick demo of how interesting petrochem is (to me!). Refining and smelting lines don't come close to the satisfaction of a smooth running gas and oil refinery.
I enjoy the luxury of being able to scratch the plastics itch three ways; via coal, via bio-plastics or traditional oil and gas. Yes, I have made a donation .

Re: Show me yours...
Managed to get some free time after the holidays to create a bio-lab of sorts.
I can tell I'm really improving at factory development so I'm very proud of this one. (Took 5 hours)
It creates 200 pink artifacts a minute, with 3.5/m for the other less used ones. Research is extremely well cared for.
The real icing on the cake here are the desalination plants and barrelling. I absolutely love being able to create mass amounts of saline water without 200+ hydro plants, plus barrels deliver the less used materials rather than building a pipeline.
The only real thing that bottlenecks this system is yellow sulfur water, something I haven't been able to barrel up in large numbers due to many sulfuric acid requirements other mods have. Quartz demand for petri dishes is heavy too, but easily remedied with a better mining setup.
It was fun to design, even more fun trying to compress it into a small space.

Re: Show me yours...
Just run a bunch of dirt-water electrolysis to produce slag, then process the slag until you get the sulfur water. You'll get loads of sulfur water that way. (it takes a little bit of sulfur (in acid form) to get it started, but returns way more than it takes in)Light wrote: The only real thing that bottlenecks this system is yellow sulfur water, something I haven't been able to barrel up in large numbers due to many sulfuric acid requirements other mods have. Re: Show me yours...
Since I just recently figured out how to unlock it with the console command, I wasn't aware of the benefits dirt water electrolysis could provide. But sure enough you're correct, for every 100 units of sulfur water, only 40 is needed to create sulfur with the remaining 60 units free to use for the barrelling process.fractalman wrote:Just run a bunch of dirt-water electrolysis to produce slag, then process the slag until you get the sulfur water. Just water and coal for infinite sulfur and infinite ores from the slag. When mining areas become too distant to bother working towards, it may be worthwhile to sustain the factory off dirty water, lol.
Thanks for the tip, I'll create the new part right away so I can admire it working long term.

Re: Show me yours...
If you've got blue science you can run the entire thing purely off of water by using ceramic filters...though this'll make the whole setup require even more water, to the point you'll want to actually work out the ratios for things if you plan on scaling it up.Light wrote:

Re: Show me yours...
Found a warehouse full of methane barrels, so why not set up a plant for making it all into plastic?
Re: Show me yours...
Same plant after a bit more work. Now functional and delivering.

Re: Show me yours...
This is my first try at refining. Im playing with bobs + angels and some QoL mods. After about 40 hours in this save i finnaly have a semi funcional refining setup. Don't know what to do with all the gems i'm getting from geodes.
Re: Show me yours...
You can convert geodesic to mineral slug and make ore out of it.
Re: Show me yours...
I'm in the middle of redoing all the low need ores like tin and lead using Angel's Smelting.
Tin is attached.
I like the symmetry and that it is going on 100% of the time (the mark1 rows in the middle are not exactly 100%, don't have aluminium yet for mk2), but it is large, uses a lot of power and is fairly useless.
Next I'll do lead and bronze.
Too bad the rest of my base is in shambles because of petrochem again .

Re: Show me yours...
quite nice. If you want to use this setup larger you would need to expand the center line, I think one belt with coke at the center and ingots on the sites. At the moment you are under utilizing the blast furnaces. for the 12 crafting speed casting you have you only need 4,8 cs blast furnace. you have 6. have a look at the spreed sheet in my signature. there is all the data you could want.
Re: Show me yours...
Thank. Quite possible I made a mistake. But I don't exactly understand your point. Care to elaborate? The blast furnaces have a crafting speed of 0.75, but the rest has a speed of 1. But the blast furnaces produce 5 units * 0.75 crafting speed, while the induction furnaces use 3 * 1, so the ratio could be fine tuned a bit.ukezi wrote:quite nice. Anyway, here is lead in the attachment.
This is what I want from smelting. Each material having a different recipe and ratio, to keep things interesting! Only with more of a bonus and less energy use. It didn't take me so much time to create this setup, but I had to go in and redo quite a bit of the rest of chemistry. This setup needs a lot of oxygen and I also had to redo sulphuric acid to handle the giant output of this setup. I'm swimming now in hydrogen and sulphuric acid.
Next I need to do some algae to handle the mineralized water by-product. I have a small algae set-up and I need to math out one that takes care of all the by product.

Re: Show me yours...
All my petrochem is an insane mess.
I'm working hard on salvaging it, so I created a really high production section to process several full pressure tanks of random stuff.
