Construction bots not building (edit: they do, but only after a while)

Construction bots not building (edit: they do, but only after a while)

Construction bots arent building even when they have materials in storage chests.

Attaching map save to easy reproduce - bots are in top left roboports and there are belts in top right storage chests.

Note: During writing this i left game running and bots started working again after cca 2 minutes - probably some wierdness in bots order queue then ... (a hope save contains such data ...)

how many active requests? a simple search could have returned information about a hard limit of 600 requests being handled at a time, or so. i mean, the number could have changed since then, but we do know they batch requests and get complaints like this because the alternative is for every request to be handled far too frequently which would cripple performance.

no idea where to find that .... but i was moving cca 50 chunks of 12-beaconned belt based GC build (12 iron + 12 copper belts in, 18 belts out) 3 tiles diagonally so it is aligned using ~5000 bots (i have around 100.000 bots because i forget to limit bot production; also some (30.000+) logistic bots was probably in transit in mall ...

You could have a billion bots, only 600 will work at a time.

And if those 600 are traversing a huge network, it can easily look like nobody's doing anything.

wait, what? i am almost certain this is untrue considering putting a few thousand *logistics* bots means we have so many flying in the air my FPS will tank, is this specific to construction bots? I thought it was about the QUEUE and how many items would be processed in a single tick.

Indeed, it is much more than 600 that can work. See viewtopic.php?p=343925#p343925 - the upper threshold is assigning 5 jobs per tick, so for example if each job can be assigned and each job takes exactly 10 seconds, you can have 3000 working bots. Usually, not all jobs can be assigned and they take variable time (not exactly 10 seconds), so there is no "max limit of working bots" that can be estimated: viewtopic.php?p=455088#p455088

I habe one network for a 900spm base and release more bots when none are available anymore. It's easy to get 8000 construction bots working - and it will increase more as I hit 0 available frequently when I claim new territory

I think i figured why my bots didnt do anything - i connected my "mall network" to "defense network" because i was lazy to bring resources and forget about it bots where traveling over 30+ chunks and there was lots of ghosts ...
