Armor batteries won't charge no matter what

Well, I've searched hard and can't find any answer to this. Hope you can help.

I have three portable fusion reactors, three batteries, and some solar panels. Despite this, the batteries never charge.

On a related note, I built the exoskeleton, personal laser defense, etc., and none of it seems to do anything for me -- I think because I don't have power. (Personal laser defense is red.) Everything has an empty power gauge.

Any ideas? Game save attached.

They charge only when you wear the armor holding them.

I didn't even realize HOW to put the armor on. Did not notice that it was a tool just like the other weapons. Makes all the difference!

The first armor you build, you auto-equip it. But if the armor slot is already in use, the new ones go into your backpack .
