Don't know how to use a machine? Looking for efficient setups? Stuck in a mission?

Anyway to stop production

Is there anyway to turn off production of something when you've received enough?

Yes
1) Circuit networks are a feature which enables the control of Inserters based on the amount of Items stored in all devices connected to the same network ( https://forums.factorio.com/wiki/inde ... it_network )
2) if you use/put-in-to a chest you can use the red X ween you look inside to fill the Stack you not to fill (to use is click on it then click the parts not to fill)

Have that certain factory that you want to stop production by having one and only one electric pole connected to the main electricity supply i.e. a pole system that is connected to the power source(s). All you have to do then is disconnect the pole that connects that specific factory to the main lines.

- Just-in-time-production: You produce only that many items, you need to fill the belts and the inputs of the other devices (works with belts only, you do not put things into chests, just make long belts as "storage", they store an astonishing high amount of items).
- Simplest: Stack-size-limitation. (The red X in the chest)
- Next easiest and much more control: Circuit-network (red & green wire plus smart chest/inserter)
- after creating robots, advanced : Logistic network (smart inserter and smart chests)
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

This, if you're not that far into the game. Open a chest, and you'll see a red X at the bottom. Click it and drag it over some of the boxes; machines will leave the red ones alone (e.g. don't take or put anything there). It made things much easier after I discovered that :D
After the chest and the belt which leads there is full, your factory will stop producing.
