Accessing armor interface

All the help docs say "right click on the amour Slot to access the amour interface". Sounds good in theory, but when I right click the armor slot, I get half of the heavy armors in the armor slot (I have two there, I guess I was too enthusiastic with crafting!).

If I move that one armor to my Character so there's only one, then I right click, I just pick up the armor.

If I move that one as well, so I am wearing no armor, right click does nothing.

I have tried resetting the keybindings to default, this has made no difference to the behavior described above.

In the Options, Controls menu, amour does not seem to be listed as something I can bind a key to.

So, how can I access the mythical armor interface? Thanks!

I am using 0.14.22 (build 25342). Windows 10 64-bit. Via Steam.

The heavy armor and light armor can't be opened, only modular armor and power armors
