Beginner video tutorial help please

Hi Factorioholics

I'm just a day old and have played the game for a few hours. I'm having difficulty understanding how things work.
If anyone knows of a good video with up to date information for a noob, it would be greatly appreciated.
I tried the search but the ammount of videos is a bit overwhelming to wade through for me right now.

Xterminator has a lot of very helpful videos, but here's a link to his beginner series playlist with MadZuri to get you started.

They'll take you through a lot of topics.. you'll probably want to watch the videos sped up to 1.5x or so to get through them quicker.

Thanks Durentis and noliVe, that is great. I'm finally getting somewhere with the game, even though my factory is total chaos lol. Not a pretty sight! I thing I need to watch the video about thought process next.

You should see my first ever base in freeplay mode (after having played the 3 missions in the demo). Spaghetti central for sure!

I started out with the vanilla single player campaign - very useful in teaching the basic concepts of the game. Sort of an interactive tutorial, I highly recommend it!
Jumping straight into the freeplay mode can be a bit daunting, there's a lot of things that you simply have to know (such as research, which resources you need for what, etc...)
