Enemies spawning inside my base..?

My entire base is surrounded by stone walls, yet enemies keep spawning inside of it. It's incredibly annoying. Enemies are only supposed to spawn in their nests, right? Is it a bug, or am I doing something really wrong?

Sometimes, they do spawn outside my base and start attacking the walls. Then I get a notification so I can go there and kill them in time, like I intend. But most of the time, they just appear in the middle of my base. No destruction anywhere near the walls. Just randomly in the middle, it appears that they spawn.

Bug report: make it reproduceable, in this case send a link to a save-file.


Btw: I see many walls, but no turrets... Ever seen a castle with walls, but no archers to defend it?

That's what I'm wondering. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong that causes them to spawn inside the base?

I mean it's not a bug; they find some way or make their own.

Check if all the walls leading to water really don't have a gap in them, i.e. check if you could build them a little bit into water. Maybe they slip in besides the wall. Just a theory though.

Expanding on GewaltSam's comment, I can actually see 3 areas in your first screenshot where biters could walk around the wall to get into your base.

Do you actually see them spawn? Are they always in the center of the base or are they to the north or south areas in the base? I suggest build a few turrets and place them at any possible access area like where the wall meets the water and see if that stops it. The map will highlight the attack so you can see where they are.

They are right though, I am sure they are getting in through the walls by the water.

And yea, ssilk is right about having no turrets?? Thats suicide, that should be a 1st major priority!
