I have read and watched several tutorials before beginning my work on train stations, and I thought I had it all down but now that I've actually started I'm not so sure. Take this not very complicated piece of track:
It is set up the same way on all sides, a chain signal to enter, and a normal signal to exit. It seems to me that the chain signals on the opposite side of the crossover should be blue each time, but it only happens on the ones to the right. Am I missing something?

Re: Problems understanding chain signals
It's a bug, even though the signal placement indicator allows placement of signals in that position.
Because it's a visual bug it will have low priority considering all the other problems the Dev's are dealing with.
A temporary fix is to move/place signals one signal placement indicator position away from any junctions.
I'm running version 13.17
