Campaign Multiplayer?

Is there any way for my friend and I to play the campaign together? So far it doesn't seem to be possible, but is there any modification that we can do to the game in order to make campaign coop / multiplayer possible?

You can load up the campaign map and save the game as soon as it starts. You can then load it up in a multiplayer session. I just tested this briefly, so I don't know how the game will react on level completion, so do this at your own risk.
It would also be appreciated if you let us know here how it turns out. Will it load up the next level in the multiplayer session? Will it unlock the next map for the both of you, or any of you for that matter?
