I have this train intersection in my factory. It seems to work fine with the exception that when a train is anywhere in the intersection, all other trains wanting to enter the intersection have to wait for the first train to clear the intersection.
What I would like help with is, if it's possible, to redo the signaling so that it allows a train from the north to go west while a train from the West (or South) goes East, both at the same time.

I am not sure why the link to the screenshot isn't working.

Re: Train Signal Question
Your intersection is a single block, and only one train can occupy a block. You have to place additional signals between the paths you want to be usable at the same time. Highlight a signal, and all the lines that are connected in the same color indicate where the block ends.
Re: Train Signal Question
I understand all of that.
What I want to figure out is how to arrange signals so that it isn't just one big block , so that trains don't get held up needlessly.

Re: Train Signal Question
You see those colored lines when hovering over a signal? Those show you what the current blocks are. If you want to seperate places from blocks apply chain signal between them.
Re: Train Signal Question
This intersection is impossible to signal in a satisfactory way, because you're unable to put signals in 4 curves in the center. There's not enough space to put a signal. You're not able to separate the top horizontal lane from the bottom horizontal lane. The center will always stay as a single block.
You need a minimum change of the rails to enable signals separate top half from bottom half:
Or more symmetric and slightly higher performance, but not required:
(the rails look all the same, but actually the curves are made slightly wider)

Re: Train Signal Question
Yah, I had tried to use signals on the inside curves, but they just blinked.
Thanks for the excellent explanation & blueprint!
