Thanks for the bug report but i am moving this to Gameplay help. Burner mining drill outputs mined resources directly to the output which in this case is the burner inserter. If you try feeding burner mining drill manually with a coal, the burner inserter will move it out into the wooden chest. Most likely you did not want this burner inserter between drill and chest

You can also feed the furnace directly with the drill and manually insert some fuel now and then

Electric Miners also output directly onto the tile indicated by the Alt-Mode “arrow”.

The only inserters needed for burner miners is to input fuel. And that’s assuming you aren’t daisy chaining burner miners on a coal patch (where one mines a coal and puts it into the next burner miner’s fuel inventory).
