Fulgora Robots vs Lightning

I have a landmass that looks like an inverted C-shape. There is one logisitic network that spans all of it with trains running into the middle area.

The problem is that robots take the shortcut which is not covered by lightning rods.

Is there any way to avoid this behavior beyond splitting up the network? Maybe a setting that says "stay within lightning rods"?

Once I get foundations I can place some lightning rods out there but that is 30+ hours away.
