Hi,
So I know that Evolution consists of 3 factors; Time, Pollution and Destruction of Nests.
I was wondering on the Pollution part, is the Evolution increased the moment it's generated or when it's absorbed, like by the environment and nests?
I believe it's calculated at the point when it's generated, but wanted to confirm.
I think that having it happen on absorption would be a more interesting approach.
This way you can have terrain have a very small impact, trees a little more and nests be much more. It would be like the pollution is mutating the wildlife.
Are there any mods that might do this?
Pollution / Evolution Question
Re: Pollution / Evolution Question
Wiki explicitly states it's by pollution generated:
Absorption is already used to pay for attack group formation - a spawner can't assign a unit to an attack group without absorbing enough pollution directly to cover the cost. Making it do both would likely make absorption handling overpowered, as even the few expansion groups you saw would be less evolved.https://wiki.factorio.com/Pollution wrote:The evolution factor is not increased by the spreading/absorbed pollution, but by the pollution produced by all the player's machinery at every tick.
