Can't get past First Steps level 3

I used to get past the tutorial level 3 without issues a year or so ago. Now I keep getting killed by repeat swarms of 6 small biters just after fixing the boiler pipes and before turrets or better guns are unlocked.

If bug - please fix.
If feature - please add easy mode for incompetent folks like me

console command without effect. I guess those swarms are hard-wired events ...

OK - so it's not a bug. I am just bad at it and the game got more difficult.
After the 5th reload, I did manage by running away while shooting - this ain't sim city
Now I am looking for a "more peaceful" mod.

I also suck at combat. When you can build them turrets help a lot.

When you finish the tutorial, and start a new game, you can set the biters to peaceful, (they won't attack until you attack them) or even disable them completely.

before rushing to make a bug report, please consider asking for assistance in gameplay help.
it saves the devs/moderators from having to look at a bug report, that isn't a bug report.

Yeah as someone who just started playing this for the first time a few days ago, I have found you always must run while shooting or they just pile on you and you die.
