My inserters are refusing to work ;[ When I delete an inserter and put a new one in same place they start to wrok. When train leaves and comes back they stop to work again... Any ideas?
I will try to post a screen shot in reply cuz I can't send URL in 1st post...
Why inserter is not working.
Re: Why inserter is not working.
trains were never really designed to be (un)loaded on diagonal and curved tracks. try building a station on a straight piece of track

Re: Why inserter is not working.
You'll notice if you put an Inserter trying to drop something onto rails it won't move. Also when a train departs the inserter will not try to drop anything on the rails (unless it was still holding something).
This is because Inserters go inactive when there is not a train to pick up from. Problem is, in some circumstances the train will not tell the Inserter to activate. I encountered this with modded inserters, if the Inserter is not in one of the 12 accepted tiles next to a horizontal or vertical train it won't activate when a train arrives, though seems to only be extracting from trains, dropping into trains appears to be fine.
Clearly the same thing happens when the wagon is not on a straight rail.

Money might be the root of all evil, but ignorance is the heart.
Re: Why inserter is not working.
This is a note to anyone else who finds this thread, experiencing the same symptoms: i.e. your inserters are not unloading, or in my case loading my train. I'd done everything by the book: straight tracks and only six inserters per car.
The problem turned out to be that I was testing the system, and was switching the train from automatic control to manual the instant it stopped at the station. Doing this too quickly caused the problem for me.
The fix was to wait till the inserters started moving the cargo, and only then switch the train to manual. After that, everything worked correctly.

Purely based on my own gaming experience, I have to disagree with this. (...) I have never experienced what you describe, but I'm going to try and replicate it.JamesBr86 wrote: (...)switching the train from automatic control to manual the instant it stopped at the station. -edit. I was actually able to replicate that 'bug'. You were right James! My bad.
