[Trains] Why is this a deadlock ?

Don't know how to use a machine? Looking for efficient setups? Stuck in a mission?

[Trains] Why is this a deadlock ?

Post by Kalissar »

Hello !
I don't understand why the followings situation is a deadlock

As I understand it, the train at the bottom should see that the rail signal B is green and go ahead. Why not ?

I finally unlocked it by putting more signals in the left part of the situation (the roundabout at the end) but still don't understand why this situation was locked :(

Thank you for your response.

The roundabout is one block and only one train can be in a block. The solution is to break the roundabout up in several blocks with chain signals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o clock on the roundabout.

*Edit* And on second notice i see that the loading area is not a separated block from the normal track, so the whole part from the C-signal to the A-signal is one block and needs to be separated into multiple blocks. And i would change D-signal to chain and remove C-signal to have train either move into the loading area or run past it a train should never be allowed to stop on a intersection.

Ive edited your screenshot, how i would place the signals.

Yellow = chain signal
Green = Normal signal

Oh, that is indeed better than what I did. Breaking the roundabout in several blocks is definitely something I'll add to the blueprint :p.

Thank you very much.
