Re: Hardest settings
wow, thanks all
But what means terrain segmentation ? Is it like finland then, 1000 lakes ?

Re: Hardest settings
Low segmentation means you get large patches of the same terrain (large desert, then large plains, then large tundra....)
High segmentation means you get all kinds of terrain mixed together.
I still cant figure out if segmentation affects forests, but it probably does...

Re: Hardest settings
Biter attacks depends on the pollution absorbed by biter nest. Trees and surface also absorbe but cant attack.
So desert with almost no trees and normal or small starting area is best. I regulary get 100+ attacks after 1 hour.
This is how a large attack looks: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =518347707

Re: Hardest settings
Tried it out with hardest settings, but there are more red spots on the radar then anyting else. Lived 4 seconds, not longer. Thought it would be a bit more realistic to choose the hardest settings. is there a setting that is from the community accepted as hardest setting but gives you at least a chance of 0.5% to survive the first minute ?
Re: Hardest settings
Give yourself a little starting area. I went with medium so I could at least get room for ammo build before aggroing everything.
Re: Hardest settings
Yup weapons is first priority

Re: Hardest settings
And if find a way to survive that.. there are always enemy mods - some even have difficulty settings (DyTech one for example). Should be able to find nice compromise between insta-death and difficult game.
Re: Hardest settings
I have been using bobs enemy's + natural evolution mod + vanilla weapons for toughness.
